On June 17th 2021, students from Guerrero, Mexico and Connecticut, USA participated in a virtual event where they were able to witness the release of 10 turtles into the sea.  Previous to the turtle release students learned about the importance of raising awareness in the conservation of marine turtles. Students were very excited to learn about the turtles and they were able to participate in a Q&A at the end of the talk.

This event took place in the Campamento Tortuguero del 68 Batallon de Infanteria in Guerrero Mexico. Students from the Cesar Batalla school in Connecticut as well as students from the North Region in Mexico came together in this wonderful virtual event and took part of the mission of Campamento Tortuguero which is to give our future generations the chance to know turtles as we have been able to. Emphasizing in the importance of the preservation of turtles and working together to prevent their extinction.
