Together with One World and Denzel Washington School of the Arts, we invite you to an evening of student performances from Mount Vernon, and across the world. Through music, dance, poetry, and the visual arts, students will celebrate our our connections and our humanity, in a Global Kaleidoscope of Peace through the Arts.

A public performing arts magnet school for grades 6-12 located in Mount Vernon, NY offering a creative opportunity for students to excel academically and artistically, with disciplines in acting, vocal music, dance, instrumental music, and the visual arts.

One World is an educational enrichment program designed to bring K12 students and educators from around the world together to learn with and from one another as we attempt to address the unprecedented opportunities and challenges of our 21st Century world. Our peace programs ranging from 21st Century Citizen Leaders to Architects of Abundance seek to build bridges that overcome our civilizational challenges with a view to creating a world of abundance where by 2050 every human being alive then will have the potential to live better than the billionaires of today.
Peace Lights is an internationally recognized symbol of peace that has played in 6 of 7 Continents and at nearly 50 United Nations-related events including in the General Assembly Hall, Main conference rooms, Delegates lounge and UN Church Center. It has been featured at countless concerts, conferences, and public art installations including 7 times in Times Square in NYC. It is a regular sight both in-person and online at Interfaith events worldwide and is directly linked to a large peace education-related initiative with presence in 30 African countries.
Darney K. Born Rivers, Founder of I AM MY COMMUNITY, a Bronx native, overcame challenges and negative influences to become a beacon of hope in his community. Surviving pandemics and personal struggles, he found his purpose in life: spreading positivity and leading others in the right direction. Through his music, community work, and dedication to uplifting those around him, Rivers is a powerful force for change in the Bronx and beyond.
Founded in 1982, we are a non-profit, non-partisan 501C(3), with consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, recognized by the United Nations as a Peace Messenger Organization. Based in Santa Barbara and New York, we work on advancing the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and other nuclear disarmament, nuclear justice, and peace initiatives.
RTT is dedicated to educating the public and bridging knowledge gaps regarding the profound impact of nuclear weapons, as well as addressing the reluctance of global leaders to confront the dual existential threats posed by nuclear weapons and climate change. Our mission is to empower young individuals by providing them with educational resources, fostering artistic expression as a catalyst for social change, and creating platforms for advocacy and the sharing of local stories to mobilize action on the interconnected issues of nuclear weapons, environmental justice, and the urgent need to ban nuclear weapons. Our guiding motto emphasizes the pivotal role of youth in effecting transformative change: “youth must rise up to change the world.”
TBS stands for The Black Spades. We are a community-based organization that operates out of the Bronx. Our organization is composed of ex-gang members that now promote Public Safety. We feed and give away clothing to the homeless, hold Public Safety Dinners on the 4th Friday of each month and bring together grassroots organizations, clergy, NYPD, politicians, and members of the community. TBS New Direction also does speaking engagements where we talk to the youth about gangs, drugs, peer pressure, bullying, and most of all how to lead positive and productive lives.
YHRI is the largest human rights education NGO in the world with presence in over 120 countries. The acclaimed curriculum is targeted at children and Youth and is available to educators for free in 24 languages. Videos on the History of Human Rights and 30 Public Service-type videos highlighting each of the 30 Human Rights are part of the award-winning curriculum. There are also free online courses and resources available worldwide. YHRI also holds an annual Human Right Summit at the United Nations in July.

The African Immigrants’ Commission of NY & CT, is a community based organization (CBO). Our mission is to promote our arts & culture, and to educate and promote civic engagement.  In effect, to empower our communities. Moreover, we advocate for the issues that directly impact our communities such as immigration, health care, jobs, and housing. In addition, we act as the voice for our community and the bridge between other communities and the African immigrants’ communities of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
