Dear One World Friends,
Hopefully, everyone knows by now, we will be launching our Global Conversation on the Future of Humanity this Saturday at 8 am EST.
The goal of this collaborative global conversation is to explore how we can responsibly transition from today’s divided world, characterized by a zero-sum, scarcity mindset, to the world of Sustainable Super Abundance predicted by futurists. In short, the big question is how do we get from From Here to There
Please register for the talk here: https://oneworlduv.com/the-future-of-humanity/
As we head into this all-important conversation, we will ask you for your patience as we send out daily messages between now and Saturday to build the number of participants. All are welcome to join the conversation, educators from all grades, high school students, and anyone else so interested. This collaborative effort is open to kids from 1 to 92.
Our focus will be on K12 educators and high school students and their teachers but we want to hear from anyone interested in respectfully sharing their ideas.
To be clear, the participant Padlet conversations will be limited to K16 students and educators but we will also organize a separate non-K12 forum for the exchange of ideas as well.
As indicated in our registration form one of our goals from this global collaborative conversation is to provide everyone with a dedicated Resource Center that includes recent relevant articles, books, YouTube interviews and emerging research.
We are also hoping you can help us build this bibliography. One book that we have found to be very helpful as we begin to navigate the Tech Wave of opportunity and challenge in front of us is a book by Emad Mostaque who tells us that humanity only has about 1,000 days to deal with this challenge. He explains that it could be 800 days or 1,200 days, but it won’t be 10,000 days.
Students entering school today will graduate in 2039 or be with their schools for approximately 5,000days. We agree with Mostaque that K12 educators need to urgently address the Tech Wave of Opportunity coming our way if they want to have any hope of preparing and shaping the world in 2039 the year students entering school today will graduate.
Here is an AI Summary of The Last Economy by Emad Mostaque
I hope to see you on Saturday.
Best regards,
Joe
