Become Future Ready with Global Competence

Why Global Competence?

Global Competence brings together three disciplines: global education, character education and service learning. Our award-winning program delivers on our principles of an E–C–E curriculum where we Educate for Global Awareness, Connect through good character and Empower through service-learning.

Global Competence Programs

Youth Enrichment Classroom Programs

Utilizing 40-50 hours of classroom time annually, trained teachers can deliver provided global competence curriculum directly to students during the school day or in after school clubs with support from One World.

School-Wide Programs

One World offers in-depth program development and consultancy, working with school districts to implement a customized, five-step plan to take global competency school-wide across all grade levels.

Focused Programs

Sustainability & Climate Change Program

Working with the UN and leading climate change champions around the world One World has designed a real world sustainability program that frames the challenge and more importantly provides opportunities for students from around the world to come together to deliver real world solutions.

2030 Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. Learn more about this transformative event and become a charter member of this movement by the end of this mini-course.

Global Connections Program

Leveraging One World’s Global Learning Community, connect your students virtually with students from around the world to communicate and exchange ideas on topics ranging from simply getting to know each other and the culture of your respective communities to  how they might find solutions to the big challenges facing our increasingly complex world.

You can set up your own One World group with family, friends or peers (at any age) using our provided discussion and activity guides so that you can educate, connect and empower yourselves to become globally competent leaders of character.

Youth Clubs in Action

One Worlders in Acapulco, Mexico saw the positive impact they could have on their community when they brought smiles to the faces of children in their local hospital after collecting and delivering stuffed animals as their service learning activity.
