Westchester Green County and One World Invite You to Participate in the 100 school Challenge 2025!
Join One World and Westchester Green County in our 100 School Sustainability Challenge by :
- Measuring your school’s carbon emissions using the UNFCCC Carbon Emission Calculator
- Create a goal to reduce emissions by the end of the school year
- Take action for short term reduction with the school district’s own reduction solutions or with solutions from our folder of materials
Every month, we will feature guest speakers and share resources at FIRST TUESDAY Zooms.

February: Launch the Challenge

March: Start Planning and Measuring

Conduct your Baseline Measurement of Carbon Footprint, then plan your activities for Earth Month
April: Earth Month of Reduction
FIRST TUESDAY ZOOM April 1, 8:30PM: Featured presenter is Nehla Sauthoff, a freshman at Pleasantville High School who conducted a research project to estimate the greenhouse gas emissions from Pleasantville Middle School using the CURE 100 Carbon Tracker. FULL RECORDING HERE
Throughout the month, students, schools and communities engage in actions toward a healthier, more sustainable world. Compete with other schools by implementing the One World Eco-Passports and other carbon-reducing activities to win a cash prize of up to $250.
May: Submit results

June 5: World Environment Day Conference
Join participants in presenting our accomplishments and giving out awards at the WGC World Environment Day Conference (Hybrid, more info to come)
