Principal Lindsey Watkins of MillBrook Primary School in Wales, UK and Madame Lin of Jinling Primary School in Nanjing, China visited the U.S. in the first week of October.
They had a One World filled schedule. Their first stop was spending the day visiting Port Chester Schools. Starting the day off was a meeting with Park Avenue Elementary’s Principal, Rosa Taylor. During this meeting each principal shared their experience with One World and their school. Following their meeting with Principal Taylor, Madame Lin and Principal Watkins attended a meeting with the rest of the Port Chester Elementary School’s Principals. The principals were able to collaborate ideas, share stories, and collaborate on their One World efforts!
Later in the day, One World Supporter and Educator, Dr. JoAnne Ferrara, brought Principal Watkins and Madame Lin to Edison Elementary School where they were able to engage with students in several classrooms teaching them “Hello” in both Welsh & Mandarin. After visiting Edison, they met with the Port Chester One World Club Advisors at JFK Elementary. They then ended their night with a pizza party attended by some of Port Chester’s Global Leaders!
The next day, Principal Watkins and Madame Lin visited our One World Long Island Schools. The first stop was to Wyandanch School District where they were introduced to their awesome faculty and given a tour of school lead by One Worlders! This was followed by a collaborative meeting with the Asst. Superintdent, Mrs. Talbert, the Elementary School Principals, Miss Simpson & Miss Carmen, the One World Coordinator & School Social Worker, Ms. Moshkovich and other members of faculty. This was a meeting full of global collaboration and insights! Their day on Long Island ended with a celebration at One World Supporters, The Hams, house where they were introduced to the Long Island One World Club Advisors!
After their visits in Port Chester & Long Island, the principals & One World founder, Joe Carvin, headed to Washington DC to attend the Character.org Conference.
