Hosanna School for the Deaf

Overview
The Hosanna School for the Deaf is the only boarding school for deaf children in Ethiopia. The children are from all over the country. Students and teachers use sign language to communicate and students learn to read and write in Amharic, the working language of the country. Classes start at Kindergarten and run through grade 12. Students learn trades throughout their schooling so that they can find good jobs. When they leave school they have professional skills in carpentry, beauty and fashion design and other skills. The One World Club has 20 students: 10 male and 10 female.
