EC President To Address Migrant, Refugee Crisis In Annual Speech
In his State of the Union speech on Wednesday, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will speak to the ongoing migrant crisis, including plans to resettle up to 160,000 refugees across Europe and to provide monetary compensation to nations who accept refugees.
In his speech, which will be delivered before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Juncker will “lay out his vision for EU policy for the coming year and assess the current state of affairs. More importantly, he will try to show that the EU can deal with and move beyond several crises that have consumed it for months now: Greece, migration and security,” reports Politico.
