International response to Syria raises questions
Despite 5,000 deaths since March, the Arab League has maintained a hands-off approach with regard to increasing violence in Syria.
The disintergrating situation on the ground is raising questions about the role of international governing bodies, including the UN Security Council. CNN reports that the main obstruction to further action by the Council is Russia’s opposition. And, with the possibility of more monitors leaving Syria, the further doubt about the credibility of the Arab League has arisen.
