A bold idea to build infrastructure in Africa
It is no secret that business development in Africa poses a host of challenges, the largest being a transportation infrastructure. However, a new project developed by Zanbato, a company based in Silicon Valley, and the African Development Bank may have identified a possible solution – an online marketplace for infrastructure projects.
According to an article on the website of the Center for Global Development, the idea reaches beyond the World Bank to connect with a pool of potential investors who might be interested in investing in Africa.
“Google Green, for example, has invested over $850 million into renewable energy projects, primarily in the United States, and is interested to invest in Africa where there is an abundant supply of solar, wind and geothermal energy.”
