The limits of brinksmanship in Greece and Israel

Despite the potentially dangerous consequences of failure to approve a referendum on the EU’s proposal to bail out Greece that nation pushed the situation to the brink.

Although the stakes are different, the Jerusalem Post argues that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak are engaged in a similar strategy with regard to dealing with Iran.

“[T]the use of brinkmanship by the leaders of both countries as a tactical means for achieving goals that are not clearly defined is dangerous in both cases,” writes Jersualem Post reporter Susan Hattis Rolef.
