In an attempt to create jobs, is India building a welfare society?
Almost six years ago, the Indian government promoted a plan to give 100 days of work to any family who partipated in a new jobs program. With rampant unemployment, on first-glance it seemed a good idea.
However, many business owners and critics say the program actually making workers less productive and places undue burdens on businesses in the form of set wages.
