IMF warns China on asset bubbles

A June report produced by the International Monetary Fund, but released on November 14, contends that China’s financial policies are placing its commercial banks at risk.

After conducting a series of stress tests, the IMF advised China to free up its financial markets from government control. According to CNBC, the Chinese government’s response to the report indicates it is unlikely to follow the Fund’s advice.
