Germany’s parliament slows EU debt talks

In an effort to quiet growing unrest within her own government, Germany’s Angela Merkel granted the nation’s parliament more leverage in the euro bailout than it has actually been required to do. While the move may ease disontent over the currency rescue plan at home, it could limit the European Union’s ability to act in a time of crisis, reports Der Spiegel.
