France and Britain row complicates efforts at EU conference
At a conference designed to reach agreement on a Eurozone debt plan, Britain’s David Cameron and France’s Nicolas Sarkozy became embroiled in a fight that seemed more suitable for the playground.
Cameron and Sarkozy were involved in a heated discussion over Britain’s role in the Eurozone talks which delayed the conclusion of the EU-27 summit, and ended with Sarkozy telling Cameron: “You have lost a good opportunity to shut up.” Read more of The Guardian’s coverage of the political infighting.
