European disunion: Can the EU find its way forward?
President Barack Obama and Treasury Tim Geithner have chastised Europe’s leaders for being unable to reach an agreement on a solution to its debt crisis. Even the Vatican has found the need to weigh in on the inability of Europe and international organizations to find consensus. Are the European leaders simply dysfunctional, political, and arrogant, or do they each have good reason to approach the solution with great care and concern?
